Citizens as Enemies?

It’s not just hardware, but high-level coordination with federal agencies and a dangerous mindset that sees citizens as enemies.

October 4 is also a Global Action Day Against the Use of Drones for Surveillance & Killing and is being sponsored by a host of groups around the world.

As global citizens who believe in justice and the rule of law, we oppose weaponized and surveillance drones because their deployment:

  • violates democratic rights of freedom of speech and assembly and the right not to be unreasonably searched,
  • is used for extrajudicial “targeted” killings based merely on suspicion — murders — even of children inside and outside of war zones,
  • terrorizes populations in targeted territories, thereby fueling hatred and increasing the cycle of violence,
  • lowers the threshold to war and initiates a new round in the arms race,
  • leads to the development of autonomous killer robots, thereby making even more horrifying wars likely.

Love our veterans or leave VA now

“Los Angeles County is the homeless veterans’ capital of the USA. Ironically, it’s also the place where veterans are land owners denied the right to use their property. For years now, VA and local elite members have been juggling the keys to the padlocked estate which by the way, was deeded to disabled and homeless heroes back in 1888.” — FROM Before It’s News

Letter from Veterans Affairs, County of Los Angeles to Supervisor Don Knabe (3/2014)

From City News Desk (8/2014)
LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The Board of Supervisors voted today to show their support for a federal court ruling that the Department of Veterans Affairs cannot use land deeded to it for purposes other than veterans.

United States District Court Judgement
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND DECREED that the following agreements entered into by the Department of Veterans Affairs (“DVA”) concerning parcels of land and facilities located on the DVA’s West Los Angeles Campus are unauthorized by law and therefore void . . .

Here’s a pro-Veteran and insightful article that further exposes the most corrupt government operative in the world — the Los Angeles VA — orchestrated under the dictatorship of Donna Beiter and Ralph Tillman — they must be fired.

Amnesty International condemned the US government’s blatant over-prosecution and hypocrisy in its handling of Chelsea Manning’s case

On July 30th, one of the world’s most important human rights organizations, Amnesty International condemned the US government’s blatant over-prosecution and hypocrisy in its handling of Chelsea Manning’s case:

“The US government must grant Chelsea Manning clemency, order her immediate release, and implement a thorough and impartial investigation into the crimes she uncovered.

After being convicted of 20 separate charges Chelsea Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison, much longer than other members of the military convicted of charges such as murder, rape and war crimes.

Before her conviction, Chelsea Manning had already been held for three years in pre-trial detention, including 11 months in conditions which the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture described as cruel and inhumane…”
