My father is one of the tens of thousands of brave men and women who served our country in uniform & risk their lives to defend and protect the freedoms we all value. My dad was fortunate enough to find a union job when he returned from his tour of duty in Vietnam. But the fact is, quality, union job opportunities are disappearing for vets today, and my father would be the first one to tell you that by and large, our nation’s veterans are no longer receiving the support they’ve earned or the services they need when returning home.

California’s labor unions are taking the lead to change that. “Labor and Veterans – Partners in Service is a new project sponsored by California unions that spearheads helping veterans on three fronts: providing volunteer service, opening doors to good jobs and special Veterans Day event in Orange County to honor our heroes for their service.
